Edith Oktollik was born in Point Hope, Alaska and belongs to the Inupiaq people. She creates beautiful soapstone carvings. Her carvings capture the spirit of village life in Alaska. They include images of seals and owls, as well as scenes of dances, ice fishing, and other village activities. She has been practicing her craft for more than 30 years.
